AIR MILES survey reveals many Canadians will take vacation another time
Taking a March Break vacation is a thing of the past for many Canadian parents who are showing more concern about time, money and stress in 2010 than in past years. According to the respondents of the third annual AIR MILES(R) Reward Program March Break survey, 79 per cent of parents admit they are not planning to take any time off at all this March Break. Of those respondents, 52 per cent say they are foregoing a mid-winter vacation for a holiday later this year, and one in three confess they just can't afford it.

Consumer Protection BC announced today the launch of www.travelrightsbc.ca, their new travel industry portal. This new portal, which co-exists with a larger Consumer Protection BC website, provides timely and relevant information for both travel consumers and licensed travel agents in BC.
Driving like your peat bog’s on fire

When we traveled to the UK last year, from the moment we got ready to board the flight from Denver to London, it started to feel like a proper, foreign holiday. The gate attendants had vague British accents, and so did all the flight attendants. Even the safety spiel on the airplane sounded better with a British accent: it sounded kind of soothing, like a bedtime story about what to do if a plane crashes and you are catapulted into the Atlantic Ocean.
A trip to Ireland

It’s been almost a year since I got to visit Ireland and Scotland with my husband and his sister. What a great trip and a wonderful holiday!
Enjoying a trip to Ireland wouldn’t be complete without a mention of the roundabouts---the UK alternative to traffic lights. When traffic comes from four different directions to an intersection, everybody just drives around a big circle in the middle, like a wheel with spokes, until they figure out which spoke they want to take. It all happens at rapid speed, there are at least two lanes going in all directions, and the lanes are approximately the width of a bicycle tyre.
