Shortly after 3:00am on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 Quesnel RCMPand Quesnel Fire Department were called to a structural fire in the 500 block of Edkins Road.  

Police and fire personnel attended to find an outbuilding on the property fully engulfed in flames.  Fire crews extinguished the flames and the RCMP held the scene through the night.  Police and fire investigators returned to the scene later that morning to conduct further investigation. 

That investigation revealed that the fire had been deliberately set; Quesnel RCMP are continuing their investigation into this arson.

Police are particularly interested in identifying and speaking with the passerby who alerted the homeowner to the fire, and anyone who saw the fire prior to the arrival of police and fire department personnel. 

Anyone with information regarding this fire is asked to contact the Quesnel RCMP at (250) 992-9211 or if you wish to remain anonymous, call CrimeStoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).  You do not have to give your name and you will not have to testify in court.  CrimeStoppers pays up to $2,000 in cash rewards for information leading to an arrest and charge.
