100 Mile house RCMP News Briefs to January 18, 2010100 Mile House RCMP responded to 65 complaints and calls for service over the last week. 

On January 11, 100 Mile House RCMP and Fire Rescue responded to a a structure fire on Saunders Crescent in 103 Mile.  A stand-alone garage with a suite received significant fire damage.  After the fire was put out, Police maintained security at the scene until the following morning when Fire investigators were able to determine that the fire was not suspicious.  The cause of the fire is being investigated by the 100 Mile House Fire Department.

On January 12, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a complaint of someone attempting to break in to a vehicle in the parking lot of a business in the 300 block of Highway 97.  Upon police attendance, a male was located hiding behind a vehicle.  After investigation, the male was detained under the Mental health Act and transported to hospital, where he was admitted.  No charges are being pursued. 

On January 13, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of mischief to a vehicle that has been parked behind the business complex at 575 Horse Lake Road.  A rock had been thrown through a window and the mirror was smashed.  An MP3 player was reported stolen.  Anyone having any information about this incident is asked to call the 100 Mile House RCMP or CrimeStoppers. 

On January 14, 100 Mile House RCMP, 100 Mile Fire Rescue and Lac La Hache Fire Department responded to a single vehicle collision that occurred just south of Dunsmuir Road on Highway 97.  The female driver lost control on a patch of ice and left the road.  The vehicle rolled at least once in the ditch and came to rest on it's wheels.  The driver of the vehicle was removed by Fire Rescue and transported to Williams Lake hospital by Ambulance with non life threatening injuries.  The investigation into this matter is continuing. 

On January 15, 100 Mile Traffic Services were conducting a road check in the Lone Butte area.  A driver of one of the vehicles displayed symptoms of impaired driving and was detained.  A quantity of open liquor was seized from the vehicle.  The driver was returned to the detachment where two breath samples were obtained of 150 and 140 mg%.  Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit have been recommended to Crown against a 46 year old resident of 100 Mile House.

There were four traffic complaints and nine traffic collisions over this reporting period.
