RCMPshield_crest2100 Mile House RCMP responded to 102 complaints and calls for service over the past week. Some of the highlights are below:

On July 29, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of a dirt bike being stolen from a cabin at Sheridan Lake,. The incident had occurred sometime between October 2009 and July 2010. The dirt bike is described as a 1983 Yamaha model MX100 that is white with a black seat. Members of the public who have seasonal dwellings are reminded to make sure the conduct periodic checks or have a trustworthy neighbor keep an eye on their property.

On July 28, 100 Mile House RCMP conducted small vessel checks and inspections on Sheridan Lake. Eleven vessels were checked in total and all found in compliance with the new regulations. The public is reminded that 100 Mile House RCMP and 100 Mile House Conservation Officers will be conducting regular patrols of local waters, enforcing all laws which pertain to boating and fishing regulations.

On July 30, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of a break and enter to the Forest Grove church which had occurred over night. The suspect(s) had gained entry through a window which was not secured. The suspect(s) then deployed a fire extinguisher inside the premises causing damage which required a clean up. There was nothing stolen from the church.

On July 30, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a complaint of a domestic dispute on Horse Lake Road. Further investigation revealed that an argument ensued between the female and male that resulted in an assault. The female tried to secure herself in a room and the door was forced open by the intoxicated suspect who them poured beer over the female. The male is a local resident of 100 Mile House who was arrested, and the police are recommending charges of assault. The female was not injured during the altercation.

August 1, 100 Mile House RCMP attended a report of a hysterical female in traffic on Cedar Avenue. The female was identified as a youth and located near the hospital. The female was determined to have mental health issues, and was arrested under the Mental Health Act, for her own safety. The female was transported to the hospital where she was accessed by medical staff and received appropriate treatment.

August 2, 100 Mile House RCMP attended a complaint of some banging that had occurred near the maintenance shed of the 108 Mile Resort. Further investigation revealed that a break and enter had occurred as there was forced entry into the shop below the 108 Mile Resort. There were two golf carts stolen and later recovered near the beach entrance to the 108 Mile Lake. A police dog was contacted but the suspects were not apprehended.
