RCMPshield_crest2100 Mile House RCMP responded to 74 complaints and calls for service over the last week.  Some highlights are below: 

On July 19, 100 Mile House RCMP reported that a youth had been assaulted and had his bicycle stolen.  After hearing the press release, a concerned parent contacted the detachment and provided information that lead to the recovery of the bicycle.  The witness also indicated that the story may have been fabricated.  When confronted with this information, the youth admitted that he had made up the story. Charges of public mischief for making a false report will not be pursued because of the age of the youth. 

On July 20, 100 Mile House RCMP received a report of a theft from the 5700 block of Highway 24 in Lone Butte.  The complainant advised that a number of tools had been stolen from a carport attached to the house.  The list of articles stolen included a Stihl chainsaw, a circular saw, a cordless drill, wrenches and numerous hand tools.  

On 22, 100 Mile House RCMP received a complaint of a theft of a Stihl weedeater which occurred from a property in the 900 block of Scott Road. The value of the weedeaters is approximately $100.  

On July 23, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a complaint of a theft of liqour from a cold beer and wine store.  A suspect entered the store and stole two  cases of beer.  A male matching the description was located nearby, but fled.  Further investigation was conducted and the suspect male was located the next day, identified and released on court documents with an appearance in October.  Charges of theft are being recommended to Crown against a 24 year old male resident of Hudson's Hope. 

On Jul 25, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to two complaints of a break, enter and theft to a seasonal residence on Eagan Lake Road.  Unknown culprits entered the residences over the last week and stole several articles.  Some of the article stolen include an outboard motor, a portable generator and chainsaws.   

If anyone has any information regarding this incident or any other crimes in the 100 Mile House area, they are asked to contact the 100 Mile House RCMP at (250) 395-2456 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Should your information lead to the arrest of the responsible party, Crime Stoppers will pay cash for the TIP.
