100 Mile House RCMP highlights to May 17, 2010

100 Mile House RCMP responded to 70 complaints and calls for service over the last week. Some highlights are attached.
On May 10, 100 Mile House Traffic Services pulled over a vehicle for having an expired tag on the license plate. The driver of the vehicle was determined to not have a valid drivers license and was a vehicle impound candidate. The plates were determined to be off another vehicle. The male driver received violation tickets for no insurance, no drivers license and misuse of plates. The vehicle was impounded.
On May 11, 100 Mile House Traffic Services responded to a report of a possible impaired driver of a semi-truck leaving downtown 100 Mile House. The vehicle was located near Ainsworth Road and it was weaving in the lane. When the unit was stopped, the driver was displaying signs of intoxication. The driver was detained and refused to provide breath samples. Charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusing to provide breath samples are being recommended to Crown against a 47 year old resident of Princeton.
On May 16, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to an assault complaint at a downtown business. A female employee had been assaulted by another female she knew. The parties were separated before police arrived. The female suspect was lodged to prevent the continuation of the offence. Liquor was involved. A charge of assault has been recommended to Crown Against a 26 year old female resident of 100 Mile House. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
On May 16, 100 Mile House RCMP stopped a vehicle in relation to an assault investigation. The driver of the vehicle displayed symptoms of impairment. An approved screening device was used and it resulted in a fail. The driver was detained and returned to the detachment where two breath samples were obtained of 150 and 140 mg%. Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit are being recommended to Crown against a 27 year old resident of the lower mainland.
On May 16, 100 Mile House RCMP received a complaint of an impaired driver in Lone Butte. The vehicle was located shortly afterwards. The female driver displayed signs of impairment. The driver was detained and returned to the Detachment where two breath samples were obtained of 160 and 150 mg%. Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit are being recommended to Crown against a 53 year old female resident of 100 Mile House.
CRIMESTOPPERS TIP OF THE WEEK
On May 14, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter to the Marmot Ridge Golf Course. A shed had been broken into and sets of golf clubs had been stolen and patio furniture had been thrown off the deck. the golf clubs were located shortly after on Ainsworth Road and were recovered by the owner. The investigation into this matter is continuing.
