100 Mile House RCMP highlights to April 6, 2010

100 Mile House RCMP responded to 55 complaints and calls for service over the last week.
On March 30, 100 Mile House RCMP and 100 Mile Traffic services responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 97 at 85 Mile. Investigation revealed that a heavy duty road grader was traveling in the north-bound lane while towing a pickup truck. An unloaded semi-truck with two flat decks traveling in the same direction made contact with the towed vehicle, then swerved around the grader and went into the east ditch. The driver of the semi-truck received minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The other driver was not injured. Alcohol was not a factor in the collision. the driver of the semi-truck was issued a Violation Ticket for Drive without reasonable consideration.
On March 31, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a 911 call on Park Drive in the 103 Mile. Upon attendance, investigators determined that a group of three males had attended to the residence of the complainant. He refused them entry. One of the male suspects broke a window to the residence and gained access allowing one of the other males into the residence. The complainant was assaulted and his cell phone was stolen when the suspects left the residence. The victim had minor injuries. The investigation into this incident is continuing.
On April 3, 100 Mile Traffic services conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle coming off of Tatton Station Road. Investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle was a prohibited driver under the Motor Vehicle Act. The driver was issued a Violation Ticket for driving without insurance and an Appearance Notice for Court for driving while prohibited. The vehicle was towed.
On April 5, 100 Mile House RCMP responded to a mischief complaint at the 108 Mile resort. Sometime overnight, unknown culprits had dug up areas on several of the golf course greens, overturned a picnic table and damaged some tee boxes. Anyone having information about this incident is asked to contact the 100 Mile House RCMP or call CrimeStoppers.
Easter long weekend summary:
100 Mile Traffic services wrote 45 Violation Tickets over the long weekend.
The majority of those were for speeding. There were three 24 hour driving prohibitions issued.
