Double homicide in rural Prince George area

A second male body was found yesterday, March 18th, off the Pelican Lake Forest Services Road, in the Clear Lake Saw Mill area near Prince George, BC.
The first deceased male, found Wednesday March 17th, has been positively identified as Owen Thompson, a 48 year old Prince George resident. Also located at the crime scene was a 48 year old female victim, who's identity is not being released.
The 36 year old male Alberta resident, Micheal James Bartley, the accused , was arrested in the Paradise Valley area of Alberta yesterday and is presently in custody at Lloydminster Detachment RCMP. He will be returned to Prince George Detachment sometime next week.
Both deceased males are presently in Kamloops for a forensic autopsy. Cause of death has not yet been established.
Micheal James Bartley has been charge with Second Degree Murder, and Attempted Murder. His next court appearance will be in April.
The Prince George Detachment Serious Crimes Unit continues to investigate and will be consulting with Regional Crown Counsel, with respect to additional charges.
