Air tanker makes four drops on spot fire yesterday
| News |
Members from the 150 Mile House Volunteer Fire Department responded to a small bush fire yesterday evening in the 140 Mile House area. They were joined by a three-person crew from the Cariboo Fire Centre as well as aircraft.
A witness on scene watched four loads of suppressant being dumped on this fire by an air tanker. This fire was fully extinguished.
"There are no known large fires within the Cariboo Fire Centre region that could be contributing to the smoke in the air," Jenny Fremlin from the Cariboo Fire Centre said. "The haze people are seeing is most likely coming from offshore."
A NASA website explains, "The fires that have been plaguing Russia for months now are causing smoke to drift across the Pacific Ocean towards North America." Click on the following link to read more: click here
