Crosina Realty supporting the homeless

It has been almost a year since Crosina Realty stepped forward to help support the homeless in the community through the CMHA Homeless Outreach Program. Their office on Oliver Street has been a drop-off centre for items for the homeless, and a steady stream of household items, blankets and clothing have been passed on to help the homeless.
The Homeless Outreach Program with the Canadian Mental Health Association helps the homeless with housing, food, furniture, networking and advocacy. “When we hook people up with housing, we ask if they need furniture,” Wayne said. “We help them get settled and comfortable and get them food from the Metis Association Food Bank.” To collect furniture for clients Wayne said that he goes to share sheds and yard sales. “I tell people at yard sales that if they have anything leftover, call me and I’ll come and pick it up,” he said. A Contain-it storage unit, donated by Jason Martin and Jaime White, makes it possible to store furniture for the Homeless Outreach Program.
Realtor Krystal Ross said that fall is a great time to make donations to the Homeless Outreach program when you winterize your RV, clean out your garage or organize your closets for winter. "We always welcome things like sleeping bags, warm blankets and clothes, boots and wool socks--things that help keep people warm," she said. "Whether you're upgrading a small appliance or your winter wardrobe, bring it by for the homeless."
Drop-off items for the homeless are welcome at Crosina Realty from Monday to Friday 9-5.
