Residents in Williams Lake, 100 Mile House and the Cariboo Regional District will benefit from $321,247 in provincial funding that will be put toward public safety initiatives and important municipal services, Cariboo-Chilcotin MLA Donna Barnett announced yesterday. The funding is part of a $38.6 million instalment from the Strategic Community Investment Fund.
“This funding is a real advantage for these communities,” says Barnett. “It allows them to plan for the future, build local infrastructure and provide the vital services that residents rely on.”
The following is a summary of funds provided:
Small Traffic Fine Total Funding

· Williams Lake $106,387 $77,609 $183,996
· 100 Mile House $ 97,939 -- $ 97,939

Since 2001, the Province has given communities $413 million in traffic fine revenues and $363 million in Small Community and Regional District Grants.
