Traffic Signals are being replaced at 8th Avenue and Oliver Street
| News |
The City of Williams Lake will be replacing the traffic lights, controls and underground wiring at the intersection of 8th Avenue and Oliver Street over the next two weeks. The new traffic control system is state of the art technology with voice crossing alerts for the visually impaired and has a signal count-down feature for the pedestrian crossings. The remaining traffic signals along Oliver Street will be replaced with the same technology in future years.
According to Councillor Surinder Rathor, “The new traffic controls will be a great improvement for one of the key intersections in our town and will enhance safety for the high volume of traffic and pedestrians that use that particular intersection.”
Flag persons will be directing traffic during the project. Motorists and pedestrians are requested to use caution as they travel through the intersection.
