Olympian Swim Camp and Inspirational Talk
| Sports |
Two members of the Swim Canada Olympic team will be in Williams Lake this weekend for a swim camp and more. The swimmers are Annamay Pierse and Scott Dickens - Pierse is the current world record holder of the 200m butterfly, Dickens is also a breast stroke specialist and was a double medal winner at the Pan-Am Games in 2007. Both swimmers will be helping local swimmers improve their skills and they'll also be giving an inspirational talk and stroke clinic for adults.
The inspirational luncheon with the Olympians is Saturday, October 24th from 12noon-2pm at the WLSS Commons and it costs $10; but that also gets you a great lunch. You can sign up for the luncheon at the pool or call the Blue Fins to say you'll be there, 392-2987.
Pierse and Dickens will also hold an adult swim clinic on Sunday, October 25th from 7-8:30am. They'll be doing stroke correction for the first half of the clinic and then talking about how to workout better. Registration is $25 and you can sign up at the pool or call the Blue Fins at 392-2987.
