Thunder Mountain Speedway 2011 awards

Race car drivers received awards and recognition at the Thunder Mountain Speedway 2011 Championship Results event on Saturday. It was also an opportunity to acknowledge the dedicated sponsors and the committed volunteers who work hard behind the scenes throughout the year.
Marius Dunford won ‘Most Supportive Driver’ for all classes at the event, Lynn Dunford won ‘Most Supportive Member', George Giesbrecht took the 'President’s Choice' award and Mike Mercer won the 'Executive Choice' award.

2nd Place Points Champion in Bone Stock Minis went to #25 George Giesbrecht, 3rd to #15 Jason Howlett, 4th to #20 Brian Giesbrecht, 5th to #00 Sean Bruce and 6th to #66 Sean Kelly.
In Bone Stock Minis, ‘Best Appearing Car & Crew’ was awarded to Donny Kunka, ‘Most Improved Driver’ went to Sean Kelly, ‘Most Sportsman Like Driver’ was awarded to Jason Howlett, ‘Hard Luck Award’ went to Brian Giesbrecht and Sean Kelly went home with ‘Rookie of the Year.’
In Thunder Class #35 Jesse Fisher took the 1st Place Points Champion Award, with #53 Willy Frank taking 2nd, #79 John Haynes in 3rd place and #56 Tim Westwick taking 4th.
‘Best Appearing Car & Crew’ went to Jesse Fisher, ‘Most Improved Driver’ was awarded to Willy Frank, ‘Hard Luck Award’ went to Tim Westwick, ‘Most Sportsman Like Driver’ also went to Willy Frank and Jason Davis was awarded ‘Rookie of the Year.’
In the Heartland Toyota Pro Minis, #2 Marius Dunford took 1st Place Points Champion, with #25 Tim Roberts in 2nd place and #02 Allen Roberts in 3rd.
Marius Dunford also won ‘Best Appearing Car & Crew’ and ‘Most Sportsman Like Driver’ with ‘Most Improved Driver’ going to Allen Roberts.
In Streets, #40 Bob Lowen took 1st Place Points Champion, with #27 Arnie Kunka in 2nd, #82 John Plumb in 3rd, #14 Derek Christianson in 4th place and #23 Riley Sager in 5th.
‘Best Appearing Car & Crew’ went to Bob Lowen and ‘Most Improved Driver’, ‘Hard Luck Award’ and ‘Most Sportsman Like Driver’ were all awarded to John Plumb.
