First annual 'Smoke on the Water' swim event in Williams Lake (at Chimney Lake, BC)It was blue sky and sunshine as   ranging from 9 to 56 years old took part in the first ever “Smoke On The Water”  at Chimney Lake today.

The results were as follow: 

750 metres                                                  

12 & under – gold - Bridget Pocock            

12 & under – silver - Jordan Kerley              

13-15 – gold - Geneva Gordon                    

16-20 – gold - Abbi Taylor                          

16-20 – silver - Kyla Benisch     

1500 metres

12 & under – gold – Christopher Russell

13-15 – gold – Tracey Beauchamp

13-15 – silver – Ashley Beauchamp

13-15 – bronze – Sienna Hoffos

21-30 – gold – Brent Ryan

31-40 – gold – Jennifer Anderson

41-50 – gold – Martine Cyr

3000 metres

21-30 – gold – Kim Bryan

31-40 – gold – Rebecca Catherall

51 & over – gold – Colleen Bick

51 & over – silver – Walter Rees 

Finishing 1st overall in the 750m swim was Geneva Gordon, 1st in the 1500m was Tracey Beauchamp and 1st for the 3000m swimmers was Kim Bryan. Out of the 16 swimmers in the event, there were 10 current or former Blue Fins swim club members. 

The Blue Fins swim club thanks the volunteers who were on the water with the swimmers assuring their safety and on land helping with organizing and timing. 

Next for the Blue Fins will be registration and the start of the 2010-2011 season in September.
