Blue Fins excel at provincial "AA" finals

Five members of the Williams Lake Blue Fins swim club were at the Provincial “AA” championships in Surrey over the weekend.

Leading the way with five medals was 15 year old Patrick Verbeeck. He collected two silver medals, one bronze medal in the pool, the two golds on the final day of competition.
Also medaling at the Provincials was Ashley Beauchamp with two silvers and a bronze, Jeremy Zwiers with a silver and Geneva Gordon with a bronze. Tracey Beauchamp placed in the top 10 of the finals in every race she swam, coming close to medals with a fourth place in the 100m backstroke and a fifth place in the 400m freestyle.
The Williams Lake swimmers were in the top 10 a total of 31 times. More medals were close as the Blue Fin swimmers also had four finishes in fourth place and three finishes in fifth.
Next for the Blue Fins is the BC Summer Games from July 23rd to 25th in Langley. Ashley Beauchamp, Geneva Gordon, Sienna Hoffos, Danika Robson and Daniel Rich will be attending that meet.
