We arrived in Moscow after a day and half of travel. On our way to our downtown hotel we experienced rush hour traffic, best described as 12 lanes of traffic on a road designed for eight lanes. Saying that was ‘hectic’ would be an understatement.
Morning rush hour also takes place in the dark, as it does not get light until 10:00am. Pedestrians are at a disadvantage, as they must watch their footing on the ice and snow, but factor in the extreme winter apparel and apparent-mandatory Russian head gear, and it really is a wonder they ever make it across the street.

The Williams Lake Wrestling Club (WLWC) would like to welcome all our new members to the ‘Black and Blue Family‘. It is fantastic to see new faces on the mat.
We are excited to say the season has officially begun. This past weekend, December 1, 2012, our high school students kicked off the season by attending The 1st Annual Prince George Secondary School Icebreaker tournament. We brought seven athletes to Prince George to compete.

Judo is a family sport for the DiMarcos, who travelled to Burnaby for a tournament this past weekend. Georgia brought home a silver medal after winning one fight and losing one; Jeff brought home a bronze medal after fighting four matches, winning two and losing two; and Anthony received a participation ribbon for fighting in the white belt division.
Anthony describes his first experience at a tournament as 'really hard'. “They had me in hold-downs the whole time and I couldn’t get out.”

PeeWee Minor Hockey evaluations underway in Williams Lake
The second half of the PeeWee Minor Hockey evaluations for kids with last names beginning with letters M through V, was held in Rink One at Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex last evening.
Approximately 50 players hit the ice, performing various timed skill drills, which will determine where they are placed in the roster. Each team is balanced as the organizers can get them. Every child that tries out, is placed on a team.
