Williams Lake RCMP briefs to February 7, 2012

The Williams Lake RCMP provide a weekly report to local media outlining complaints and calls for service from the previous week.
February 2
Assault With A Weapon
RCMP received a report that a male had bear-sprayed a student at a local High School. This incident was captured on the school video surveillance system. After a brief search of the area the suspect was located and arrested. The male was still in possession of the bear spray and another improvised weapon (rock in bandana). The male was released on a Promise to Appear with Undertaking with conditions of no contact and not to go to the High School.
February 3
Fail To Appear
A male was arrested at the Williams Lake Court House on a warrant for 'Failing to Appear In Court'. Crown requested a bail hearing be conducted to hold the male for court at a later date. Officers brought the male before a Justice of the Peace who issued a Remand Warrant and the male was held, to appear before the Provincial Court Judge on February 4.
Breach Of Curfew
At 4:05am an officer located two males and two females walking on Midnight Drive. One of the males was found to be breaching his 10:00pm curfew and was arrested.
Disturbance
RCMP received a report of a domestic dispute at a residence on Borland Street. Officers attended, knocked on the door but no one answered. Officers were forced to kick the door in to ensure everyone inside was safe. Investigation revealed that persons inside had been drinking and an argument broken out. No charges required.
Domestic Assault
A female called 911 reporting her boyfriend had assaulted her. Officers determined that the boyfriend was breaching conditions of his undertaking and probation. The female feared for her safety and was transported to a safe location. This incident is still under investigation.
February 4
Breach
At 11:45pm an officer located an intoxicated male on Carson Drive. The male was found to be breaching his conditions from a domestic incident in January and was taken in to custody.
February 5Mischief
RCMP received a report of a mischief at Nesika school. A large window was smashed out and file cabinet pushed away from the window, but no entry gained. This mischief occurred over the weekend while the school was closed. No suspects have surfaced in this case.
Mischief
RCMP received a report of mischief at the Cariboo Memorial Hospital parking lot. Sometime overnight, a hospital employee had the driver's window smashed out of their vehicle and interior rummaged through and a pair of sunglasses were stolen. No suspects have been identified.
Break And Enter
RCMP received a report that sometime overnight suspect(s) broke into a shed on 3rd Avenue North and stole a dark grey CCM 18-speed mountain bike with an 18" frame and a rotary gear shifter. Neighbourhood inquiries did not reveal any suspects.
Theft Of Alcohol
A male walked out of a local drinking establishment with a 30-pack of Budweiser beer without paying. Video surveillance showed the suspect getting into a vehicle and driving across Mackenzie Avenue. This matter is still under investigation.
Attempted Theft Of Vehicle
RCMP received a report on an attempted theft of vehicle from a residence on Western Avenue. A window was broken and the ignition was punched out. There was no description of suspects other than they fled on foot towards TRU. Patrols in the area were negative. This matter is still under investigation.
Attempted Theft Of Vehicle
RCMP received a call of another attempted theft of vehicle from a residence on Western Avenue. A window was broken and the ignition punched out. No suspects were observed and the event is believed to have occurred sometime between 5:00pm and 7:30pm. This matter is still under investigation.
Suspected Break And Enter
A female reported seeing a male dressed in a black hoody going into her neighbour’s shed. The female was aware the neighbours were not currently home. RCMP members were one block away at the time the call was received, but did not see the male in the area.
Break and Enter To Residence
At 12:42am, RCMP members responded to a break-in in progress on 5th Avenue North. The homeowners awoke to a noise as a male broke in through their kitchen window. The residents initially thought the noise was caused by their pets, but then discovered a male in the home. The culprit left through the back door of the residence. It is believed that the suspect also rifled through the vehicle in the garage. RCMP patrols were negative. This matter is still under investigation.
Break And Enter To Business
At 1:49am officers responded to a possible break-in at a building on Mackenzie Avenue North. A black truck smashed through two gates on the property, but entry was not gained to any buildings. It appears as though the truck came from the Dairy Fields and smashed through the gates, knocking off a bumper and a mirror, as it gained access to the highway. There are no matching reports of theft of a truck at this time.
February 6
Attempted Theft Of Vehicle
RCMP received a report of an attempted theft of a vehicle at King's Court. A 1992 Chev pick-up had been parked on Midnight Drive and sometime between midnight and 3:00am suspect(s) entered the unlocked truck and attempted to punch the ignition. No suspects have surfaced, this matter is still under investigation.
Theft From Vehicle
RCMP received a report of a theft from vehicle on 12th Avenue. Someone entered the unlocked vehicle overnight, a wallet and miscellaneous papers were stolen. No suspects have surfaced, this matter is still under investigation.
Suspicious Persons
RCMP received a report of suspicious persons on 11th Avenue. The caller reported three males wearing black hoodies and dark clothing were 'casing' the area. Patrols made and two youth ran into a residence on 11th Avenue. This matter is still under investigation.
Theft From VehicleA female reported that some time overnight, someone had gone through her vehicle at her residence on Resker Place. Stolen was a 17" STIHL Chainsaw model 017 (Serial number 51425103)
Theft Of Vehicle
A male reported that sometime overnight someone stole his 1989 Buick Le Sabre from his residence on Boundary Street. The vehicle has not been recovered. No suspects have surfaced, this matter is still under investigation.
Theft From Vehicle
A female reported sometime overnight someone entered her unlocked car and stole her ipod Touch. The vehicle was parked at her residence on 12th Ave. No suspects have surfaced and this matter is still under investigation.
