The Williams Lake RCMP had relatively quiet May long weekend. There were 64 calls for service, most of which were minor in nature.
RCMP were called to a break and enter just after midnight on Sunday, May 19, at 800 - 2nd Ave North. Upon arrival, the RCMP discovered that a gas line ao the premise had been broken. There was a flower pot near by that may have caused the break in the line. The fire deptartment was called and the gas was turned off. Residents were evacuated for approximately half an hour. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
Patrols were also made of several campsites in the area over the weekend, and all were reported to be peaceful.

Between February 23-26, members of Williams Lake RCMP detachment responded to approximately 110 calls for service.
On February 23 at 10:49am, police responded to reported vandalism at the apartments located at 605 Carson Drive. Someone had spray painted all over the front sign to the apartments and side brick wall. The graffiti included ‘712’ text. No suspects have been identified at this time. If anyone has any information they are asked to contact the Williams Lake RCMP detachment or call CrimeStoppers.

Over the weekend Police responded to approximately 50 calls for service.On Saturday, February 16 at 7:45am, police responded to report of a person laying down in the trees at Comer Park at Western Avenue. An intoxicated male was located and arrested. Incidental to the arrest of the male he was found to be in possession of a can of bear spray. Charges of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public are now being proposed against this individual.
On February 16 at 8:30am, Williams Lake RCMP responded to a report that a van parked at a residence on Moxon Place in Williams Lake had been broke into. The break in and theft from the vehicle occurred sometime overnight. The owner of the vehicle confirmed that sunglasses, an iPad dock and a black briefcase containing his work papers had been stolen. The total value of the property is valued to be less than $100. No suspects have been identified.

Over the weekend, the Williams Lake RCMP responded to roughly 60 calls for service. Below are some files of interest.
On January 25 just before 5:00pm, Williams Lake RCMP received a call from an individual who reported that his iPad had been stolen from his residence on 11th Avenue North. The complainant said that his door was unlocked, there was no forced entry and no one was home at the time. Through a tracking device on the iPad, the police were able to locate the gadget and attended at a residence in Williams Lake where the computer was recovered.
On January 25 at 11:30pm, police received a call from the fire department reporting that a male was suffering from smoke inhalation. Police attended a residence in the 100 block of Yorston Street and spoke to members of the Williams Lake Fire Department. As it turned out, one of the male occupants in the apartment stated the bread he was toasting caught on fire, causing the apartment to smoke up. That individual left the residence, however, his father remained in the apartment. One occupant was taken to the hospital by BC Ambulance Service for smoke inhalation. Fire crews vented the premises and no further action was required.
