Letters - Letter to the Editor

Write a letter to the editor of Welcome to Williams Lake onlineI've noticed that are are a number of petitions against the HST that are being offered around town and just wanted to mention that the opposition to the "dreaded" tax is still strong.

Furthermore ... I'd encourage the reader to sign the petition if you see it. The federal government had voted this week on whether the provinces ... particularly B.C and Ontario would get the transfer payments. For Gordon Campbell to have said before this vote - that this tax is going ahead and there is no turning back - was just another lie. Unless he's got a crystal ball?!?

There are thousands of signatures coming out the of Cariboo-Chilcotin riding alone. This is not yet a done deal.

One other interesting note about this tax is that the Finance Minister Mr. Flaherty's own wife, Christine Elliott, "campaigned hard against it during her unsuccessful run for the leadership of the Ontario Progressive Conservative party." (National Post) Hmmmm.... Interesting
