Five year old boy forgoes birthday presents to help SPCA puppies
| Letters - Letter to the Editor |
After receiving 11 four-week old puppies left for dead at the Alexis Creek store last week, the Williams Lake SPCA sent out a plea for some much needed puppy milk as well as food and volunteers to help until pups were placed into a foster home.
The generosity of the community was wonderful.
One puppy did not survive the first night, leaving the other 10 to feed and care for. As of this Monday, September17, the 10 puppies seem to be in good spirits and are even playing with toys and wagging their little tails.
Lucas, Maddy, and their SPCA adopted dog 'Dante' stopped by for a visit Saturday to drop of donations raised by Lucas's 5th birthday party.

We were told that Lucas really wanted to help the animals at the shelter and it was what he really wanted for his Birthday, in total he raised $320 for the animals and approximately $100 worth of food and toys.
A huge thank-you to Lucas, as well as the Williams Lake community and surrounding areas for a wonderful response.
