'Rescued' puppy's previous owner speaks out

Editor:
I read with interest your story yesterday about the ‘rescued puppy’ and wanted to waste no time setting the record straight. The puppy in the picture is indeed named ‘Bella’, and she does indeed belong to a disabled woman with German Shepherds and a dead St. Bernard. The rest however, is a complete lie.
I sold that puppy on Monday to a disabled woman named Allie Higgins in Buffalo Creek near 100 Mile House, in the Canim Lake/Hendrix Road area.
I have 12 emails on my computer, messages between us about the puppy. I sent her photos of the puppy—all the ones posted on Allie’s Facebook page and with the story on this website. I took those pictures myself in my own yard. I also sent her pictures of the puppy’s parents, who are our pets.
She said that she has a 10-acre farm and that she wanted to give it a ‘forever home.’ She insisted that she wanted a female puppy, and told me that she was going to name it ‘Bella.’
When I got there, there was a German Shepherd tied up out front, a huge iron gate, a large covered dog run, and what sounded like a number of other dogs barking in the back.
She emailed me the next day and said that the puppy was doing well—called her a ‘real sweetie.’ She said that she added Bella to her ‘website.’
I am putting some calls in to authorities, including SPCA investigators, who have assured me they are taking action.
Her story is a lie and people should not give money to someone not telling the truth.
