Letters - Letters - General

letter_editorDear Editor,

Given last weeks release of the FOI HST documents, nothing could be clearer than the deception of the B.C Liberal party during the '09 election. The documents clearly show that the Liberal government was discussing the HST with the Federal Government well before and during the election.

To make matters worse... Premier Campbell and Mr. Hansen have intentionally continued to lie in hopes that the electorate of B.C would eventually believe what the Liberals told them about the election campaign and that there was no discussion with the federal Government about the HST until after the election.

Obviously... they underestimated the intelligence of the voter.

Donna Barnett must stop supporting the lie of the Liberal government and stand with her constituents. Over 9,000 people in the Cariboo/Chilcotin signed a petition saying they do not want the HST. Spending $50 million plus on a referendum would be a colossal waste of public money and can all be avoided by supporting a free vote in the legislature. Then Donna can finally do what her constituency wants and vote against the HST.

It's time to put this to rest Donna. Join your constituents and say “No” to the HST.
