Letters - Letters - General

letter_editorDear Editor:

I heard, “they don’t own the land; they have no right to keep that gold”, many times during the Federal Review Panel’s hearings. Each time, ‘they’ meant the Aboriginal people.

But BC’s Crown Land belongs to the people of BC, right? Ergo, it belongs to ALL of us. So, if Taseko Mines wants to dig gold out from underneath Fish Lake, then Taseko Mines should be dealing with all of us, red, white, purple, yellow ... people. Right?

The way I read the Panel’s Final Report some of us may have gotten jobs and been able to buy groceries while some of us would have lost our winter’s food supply. Some of us would have ‘won’, some would have ‘lost’. But, we can still all pull in the same direction and use the Crown Land we all own so everyone wins.

Taseko Mines: deal with all of us and make us ALL a fair proposition. Everyone needs food this winter.
