Letters - Letters - General

Letter to the editor of Welcome to Williams Lake dot caEditor,

Last week MLA Barnett touted the HST as being good for the forest industry.  In checking with Elections BC I noted that West Fraser Timber donated $4,648.71 to her election campaign.

This week MLA Barnett tells us how the HST will be good for the mining industry, particularly for the Prosperity mine project.  Once again, according to Elections BC, I learn that Taseko Mines, owners of the Prosperity Mine, donated $2000 to Ms. Barnett’s election campaign.

West Fraser Timber and Taseko Mines contributed to Ms. Barnett’s election campaign and she is listening to them.

MLA Barnett has been in office for just over one year.  In that time, the constituents of Cariboo-Chilcotin have paid her salary.  More of her constituents have signed the anti-HST petition than voted for her.  When will she listen to them?
