I don't know Eddie William, nor do I live in Williams Lake (anymore), but I must say that because of your posts, I saw his photo all over my Facebook page instantly, and began praying that someone would find him.
I have a son myself, and couldn't imagine what it would be like if one day he just didn't come home. All that to be said, as I read through the posts on the 'Williams Lake News and Events' Facebook page earlier today, and saw how apparently-random strangers were out looking for him; checking in their sheds, and their yards ... it made me cry.
I am so happy to hear that he has been found, and I hope he is alright.
I wanted to say that everything (Got News Network Inc.) posts, gets out there, and works. So, if you're ever unsure if your small act of posting a photo, sharing local news, or simply advertising is helping the city of Williams Lake -- just know that it will always reach me.
Keep up the amazing work.

Dear Mayor Cook and Council:
Re: November 20, 2012 Council Meeting – Speed Reader board placement on 3rd Ave.
I wish I could say that I was happy to hear of the remediation solution for the ongoing dangerous driving that occurs on 3rd Ave…but I can’t.
Gang mentality and violence is nothing new
Letter to the Editor
With respect to the recent home invasion and assault incident in the local news, I have say, this is hardly new.
Gangs and related violence were around when I was a teen, and many generations before me. 'The Outsiders' era, way back to the 'Gangs Of New York' era and all over the world before that. It is still going on.
We watched this grow from the East Coast of America to the West, and then north into Canada. What lead it was television, cablevision. All these youth are trying to be cool like the bad guys on TV and in the news.
Five year old boy forgoes birthday presents to help SPCA puppies
Letter to the Editor
After receiving 11 four-week old puppies left for dead at the Alexis Creek store last week, the Williams Lake SPCA sent out a plea for some much needed puppy milk as well as food and volunteers to help until pups were placed into a foster home.
The generosity of the community was wonderful.
Voting on 'Resolution A8'
Letters - General
Request to City and Regional District
I respectfully urge City Council and Regional District Board to to consider voting at the AGM of the Union of BC Municipalities in support of Resolution A8, sponsored by the municipality of Saanich.
Resolution A8 recognizes that “A crude oil spill would have devastating and long lasting effects on British Columbia’s unique and diverse coast, which provides critical marine habitat and marine resources that sustain the social, cultural, environmental and economic health of coastal and First Nations communities” and calls on the Union of BC Municipalities to “Oppose projects that would lead to the expansion of oil tanker traffic through BC’s coastal waters … and urge the Premier of British Columbia, the Leader of the Official Opposition and members of the Legislative Assembly to use whatever legislative and administrative means that are available to stop [this] expansion of oil tanker traffic.
Landlord outlines the future of Boitanio Mall
Letter to the Editor
Editor,
We have heard many comments and rumors about the merchants and businesses at Boitanio Mall in Williams Lake.
The rumour about Boitanio mall being torn down and redeveloped in to senior and low cost housing is not true.
Boitanio Mall is not closing.
Examining the potential for Internet voting in BC
Letter to the Editor
For some time now, we've been hearing from many British Columbians around the province, as well as from interested municipalities, that they want to know more about Internet voting.
As a society, we've grown increasingly comfortable with the Internet as a tool. In fact, 93 per cent of British Columbians now have access to high-speed Internet, making us one of the most connected jurisdictions in the world. Many of us have grown accustomed to the convenience the Internet offers and we often rely on it for functions like online banking, shopping and booking travel plans.
Postage stamp decision based on political argument
Letter to the Editor
Editor:
Friends of the Nemaiah Valley provided initial comment on the judgement handed down by the Appeal Court of British Columbia on the rights and title case of the Tsilhqot'in people in a previous newsletter. While we tried to find comfort in the decision with regard to the upholding of Aboriginal Rights, including the right to manage the wild horses, we remain dismayed by the very narrow view the justices took of Aboriginal Title.
Williams Lake resident says public beach is 'for the birds'
Letter to the Editor
I recently took my grandson down to Scout Island public beach for a cool down swim. To my surprise the beach was covered in bird droppings.
I couldn't sit anywhere without sitting in bird poop.
This city should be ashamed of themselves. No wonder people don't want to visit this beach or our city. This beach could be a great place for families to come and spend an afternoon without breaking the bank. Sand, water and kids make for happy families -- especially those on a limited income.
