A tradition takes shape each September long weekend at Tyee Lake.

The local residents get together decorate their boats with lights and cruise the lake displaying a spectacular array of lights and a great deal of imagination.  This past long weekend was no different.

This tradition was first brought into play more than 40 years ago by local residents Don Jelley and Helmer Wolf and has been carried on by family and friends who now 40 years later, reside at Tyee Lake.  This year was especially brilliant with Graham and Claudia Smith’s Coyote howling at a star and Ron Kohnke’s dinosaur, always exciting to see what will arrive for the parade.

Thank-you Tyee Lake Community for participating in this wonderful fun evening and sharing something so simple and memorable, but yet so beautiful.
