A 'Community Spirit' Certificate has been presented by Council to Tracey Higgins, Programs Manager for the Pregnancy Outreach Centre in Williams Lake.

Tracey explained that they work under the Cariboo Friendship Centre and are a drop in centre with free services. "We help moms have healthy babies and healthy families," she said.

"We assist at-risk moms, looking at her age, overall health, emotional issues, mental health and FASD, among others."

She said that they usually get about 100 new clients a year. "We offer things like education, food vouchers, baby care, community services. We provide pre-natal classes, provide transportation as needed," she stated.
