Girls who love to sing are invited to come and have some fun with the Cariboo’s most unique music group: Borderline. Girls 9 years old and up are accompanied by a country/rock band, and get the chance enjoy a number of performance opportunities throughout the season.
It’s a fast-paced, fun, singing environment, where girls learn to sing lead and vocal harmonies by ear, develop their confidence and musical skills and play a variety of rhythm instruments in a full band setting.
They sing songs by artists like Chantal Kreviazuk, Hanna Montana, Blue Rodeo, Dixie Chicks, Great Big Sea and CCR, as well as three lively original tunes: The Frog, Plastic Pink Corvette and Hey Galahad.
The group meets for practice every Wednesday from 7-8 pm, and meets for stage performances throughout the community whenever possible. This is a creative way for kids to enjoy music and make a song their own. Their self-esteem improves right along with their musical skills, and they have the opportunity to enjoy the talent and passion of seasoned volunteer musicians from the community.
If you’re interested in singing with Borderline this year, or if you’d like more information about the group, phone 250-.398-7964.
