Brandi Vath's Grade 6/7 class at Glendale Elementary School challenged the rest of the school to raise money for the Red Cross efforts in Haiti. In a coin drive, the school raised $1,122.37 in approximately two weeks.

"I'm so proud of this whole school and how the kids rallied," said Principal Al Campsall. " I've been at this school for 14 years and I've never seen anything different. The thought that this school may be closed is a knife in my heart. We have a lot of kids whose parents are in the forest industry and this is a tough time for a lot of them. We're a small school but our kids and our parents are incredibly generous."
"We challenged all the other classes to beat us, and all the kids rose to the occasion," said teacher Brandi Vath, who added that the Grade 6/7 students took on the task of rolling all the coins. "It was so great to see them take this on."
