Human interest

By LeRae Haynes

To celebrate the farm-to-school lunch program that the Williams Lake Food Policy put into place at Mountview Elementary School, 250 students, teachers and guests were treated to a home-cooked turkey meal at lunch today.

Turkey, fresh cranberry sauce, yams, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, peas, corn and mouth-watering desserts were served to the delighted students. Principal Rick Miller said that the festive occasion was also so that every student could enjoy a holiday turkey dinner in a family atmosphere.

Bright decorations on the walls of the gymnasium today added to the festive atmosphere, as did the Christmas music contributed by electric guitar player Noah Ryll, whose familiar melodies inspired an occasional sing-along from his fellow students.
