Members, family, visitors and guests gathered at St. Johns Lutheran Church tonight for an annual night of fellowship and music.
There was congregational carol singing, as well as melodic and varied pieces by the Lutheran Church Choir. Community musician and beloved Citizen of the Year Christine Constabel directed the choir, even providing smooth flute accompaniment to overlay the vocal harmonies in "The King Shall Come.'

The choir was accompanied by Kim Skuratow, who also played accompanyment for the congregational singing. Other performers included Sarah Hoffman on piano and Bowen Haselhan on bass guitar on a rendition of 'Good King Wenceslas'.
There was a mother/daughter piano duet by Becky and Kianna Haselhan who played 'Hark the Herald Angels Sing', and the recorder group played 'Jingle Bells on soprano and tenor recorder.
Becky Haselhan also took the microphone to sing with Cindy Nadeau and LeRae Haynes. The trio, with Cindy on guitar and LeRae on piano, sang three tunes that included Toby Keith's 'What Made the Baby Cry,' blues traditional 'Please Come Home for Christmas' and a harmonic version of 'Silent Night.'
After the music there was a potluck fellowship dinner that packed the hall with fragrant culinery delights and warm fellowship.
The Lutheran Church's traditional 'Mitten Tree', organized by the local Lutheran Women's Mission League, is featured in the lobby, festooned with hats, mittens and scarves that are collected throughout the season. All the donated winter items are donated to Abraham's Lodge to provide warm winter comfort for people who need it most.
Pastor Andy Kahle and the congregation of St. Johns Lutheran Church invites the community to the candelight Christmas Eve Service on December 24 at 6:30.
