Employers in Williams Lake and surrounding areas will have a unique opportunity on Tuesday. At the 15th annual Employer Open House for the Applied Business Technology (ABT) class, they will be able to access potential employees with skills in the latest office technologies. They will meet a group of people who are trained, who have had practical experience, and who are primed for the workplace.

Williams Lake RCMP Constable Colin Champagne has recently launched an email program, along with the BC Cattlemen’s Association, to help track down owners of cattle that are loose on the highway. The Cattlemen’s Association has been working with Constable Champagne, and with their members, to compile a list so that loose cattle on the roads, which constitute a driving hazard for motorists and a potential financial loss for ranchers, can be reported as soon as possible.

Debbie Wood is a new face at the City of Williams Lake as Animal Control Officer, but there is nothing new about her care and concern for animals and their owners. She brings years of experience in related fields to her new job, as well as ideas, vision and goals to help make Williams Lake a great place for pets and their owners.
