090810_barrel_racing1The 40th Anniversary BC Barrel Racers Association Finals took place this weekend at the Williams Lake Stampede Grounds.

On Friday, the opening day, a total of 225 riders competed for a jackpot total of $9,721.47. Maria Schurian took first place in 1D on 'Mitobility' and Kellie McKenzie came in 1st in 2D on 'Amy'. Launi Stowell took 1st in 3D on 'Black Jack' and Dennis Gunn came in 1st in 4D on 'Snip'.

On Saturday 226 riders competed for a jackpot of $9757.06.  in 1D Kirsty DeRose came in 1st on 'Gump',  Madison Smith took 1st in 2D on 'Jewel', Nicole Jardine took first in 3D on 'Kings Salty Buck' and Courtney Mailhot came in 1st in 4D on 'Pepto'.

226 riders competed for $9754.80 on Sunday, with Ginelle Talarico in 1st place in 1D on 'Wrangler', Charla Nikkels 1st in 2D on 'CW-Jack-Queen-King', Angie Rose in 1st place in 3D on 'The Rock' and Kerry Regnier taking 1st in 4D on 'Charlie'.
