The  annual South Cariboo Garlic Festival may very well have been the best one yet. Lac La hache made the perfect backdrop for a garlicky good time including live entertainment, face painting for the kids and a garlic peeling & eating contest.

Competitors cooked up a garlic storm that saw Gina Myhill-Jones of 100 Mile House, and her Garlic Shrimp Wonton Soup, awarded the title of 2010 Master Garlic Chef. Marc Stucki's Beef Wellington came in second, followed by Kathleen Daniels' Creamy Garlic Broccoli Salad.

Organizers are already planning and anticipating next year's event.
