Bats and bees at Scout Island
| Events |
A new promotional video for Scout Island will have its debut showing on Tuesday at 8:00pm at the Nature Centre.
The sights and sounds of Scout Island can be enjoyed by nature lovers of all ages and the Scout Island Nature Centre crew will be on hand to answer any questions and provide information.
After the film, the community is also invited to join expert naturalist Anna Roberts in scouring the skyline for bat activity. She will share information about bat species in our area, and how these adaptive and interesting creatures live among us.
Every day from 1-4:00pm the Nature House at Scout Island is open to the public, where visitors can watch bees load their combs for the winter and enjoy video from the nest box webcams. Three species of baby birds were incubated and hatched and the whole process was captured on DVD and can be viewed at the Nature House.
