The parade goes back about 40 years and is put on by the Likely Chamber of Commerce. It travelled from Main Street in downtown Likely from the bridge to Gibson’s Lakeside Service and back.
Prize winners for first place in the parade categories for kids were ‘Mario Brothers’ for Most Effort, ‘A Dead Bride’ for Most Unique, ‘Cinderella’ for Historical, ‘Abby’ for Comedy and ‘Chip Proprietor’ for Bicycle.

For the adults, Cathie Wright-Juthens took first in Historical, Jerry the Moose, or Virginia McKeown, for Comedy, Mt. Polley for Commercial, the Seniors for Most Effort and the Gun Club for Most Unique.
The parade was followed by kids’ races and a raffle by the Likely Fire Department, with proceeds shared by the Fire Department and the Seniors Branch 144.

The Likely Chamber of Commerce put on a dance on Saturday night, with music provided by Sam Visi, and including live intermission music by Jordan and Gabe Holmes.
The Valley General Fishing Derby put on by Valley General Store, took place on Sunday. First place $1,000 winner in the adult category was Jason Whyte with a 6” 12-lb Char. First place in the kids’ category was won by Nicole Hipkiss, and second place was taken by Brandon Mancor, both from Quesnel.

19 kids and 115 adults entered the derby, and every contestant who entered the derby won a prize, thanks to generous sponsorships. Spanish Mountain Gold was the top sponsor for the adults and Dale Neufeld Derby was the main sponsor for the kids. More than $2,000 was raised throughout the day, with proceeds going to Likely and District Fire and Rescue.

On Sunday night there was an adult games night put on by the Chamber of Commerce, with great prices for all players.
