Bring on the tires
| Events |
The ‘Tire Stewardship BC’ recycling initiative was popular at Canadian Tire today. Residents took advantage of the opportunity to drop off used tires which were to be hauled away to Delta, B.C. by Mike Cook and Nathan Brown of Pacific Shredding Ltd. "It has been a steady stream of drop-offs all day, and I'm confident that we will fill the trailer right up by the end of the day," advised Brian Stefan, who organized this event locally.
These tires will be turned into ‘crumbs’ and further recycled into different rubber based products such as agricultural mats, sports flooring, speed bumps, railway crossings, weightlifting plates, acoustic flooring and blasting mats.
