cariboo_fire_centre_updateWilliams Lake, BC – The Area Restriction Order in the Pelican Lake and Pantage Lake area expired yesterday.  Entry into the following areas is now permitted:

·        The Batnuni Lake Forest Service Road between the Pelican Forest Service Road junction and Blackwater Road junction;

·        The Nazko Road north from the Alec Meadow Road junction t the Batnuni Lake Forest Service Road;

·        The 8500 Road network south of the Batnuni Lake Forest Service Road and west of the Blackwater Road;

·        The Spruce Road between the 8500 Road and the Blackwater Road at the north end Pantage Lake.

Crews and equipment continue to work on the wildfires in Pelican Lake area so the Cariboo Fire Centre urges the public to avoid this area if at all possible.  Hazardous road conditions continue for the area due to falling trees, and the public is reminded to be extremely cautious when travelling in these areas.  Public and crew safety remains the number one priority of the Wildfire Management Branch and the Cariboo Fire Centre.
