The BC Wildfire Management Branch has placed an Area Restriction Order in the Pelican Lake and Pantage Lake area and the public must find alternative travel routes. Failure to comply with this order can result in a fine up to $5,000 and imprisonment of up to six months.

Large, intense wildfires that have burned in the Pelican lake area this summer have caused hazardous road conditions due to falling trees. For the safety of the public and fire personnel, the BC Wildfire Management Branch has issued an Area Restriction Order.

This order applies to Crown land within the geographic boundaries described below and identified on the attached map:

 The Batnuni Lake Forest Service Road between the Pelican Forest Service Road junction and the Blackwater Road junction

 The Nazko Road north from the Alec Meadow Road junction to the Batnuni Lake Forest Service Road

 The 8500 Road network south of the Batnuni Lake Forest Service Road and west of the Blackwater Road

 The Spruce Road between the 8500 Road and the Blackwater Road at the north end of Pantage Lake.
