bellacoolaRDThe Coastal Fire Centre has recommended that an evacuation order and alert be retained for upstream areas of the Dean River in CCRD electoral area ‘A’.

Approximately 17 staff and guests of Dean River fishing lodges are affected by the evacuations and have relocated to lower Dean River facilities. Details of the evacuation areas are listed on the CCRD website under ‘Emergency Notices’ www.ccrd-bc.ca

Highway 20 is fully open with no traffic restrictions from Williams Lake to Bella Coola. All previous closures and restrictions have been lifted and no further disruptions are anticipated.

Drivers are cautioned to watch for wildlife and livestock on the highway as some fences have been destroyed along the highway corridor

The Central Coast Regional District Emergency Operations Centre is available for information from 8am to 6pm daily.
