The indigenous people of our world have long believed there are many sacred places on our planet: deeply powerful sites where one can utilize the intense energy to connect with our own spirit. They also believe one can reach into the invisible realms for insights, direction and revelation.

Thousands of people embark on a pilgrimage to one of these venerated ‘power spots’ every year. Many go to participate in annual ceremonies, while others travel the hundreds of miles seeking answers to long held questions. And then there are always some who are not sure what propelled them to make the journey.

Regardless of one’s reasons for visiting Ancient Sacred sites, generally the seeker experiences valuable glimpses into ‘Self’ and our respective relationship to the world.

The energy at these ‘power spots’ appear to act as a catalyst for people who desire contact with a force seemingly greater than themselves.  However, what if this power in these places, which has remained a mystery for thousands of years, was not the only well to draw from?  Poets and philosophers, over the ages, maintain and promote that mysteries become mysteries because the Truth has been lost and forgotten.  The following quote serves to prompt our memory and revisit the Truth.

“The blessings for which we hunger are not found in other places or people.  These gifts can only be given to you by yourself.” ---John O’Donohue

What if we did not need to travel anywhere to connect with this mysterious power?  What if the sacred site was not a mystery to us at all? What if the secret was as simple as looking within? What if the ‘real journey’ to the source was located in our own being?

It is all true!

We possess the incredible awareness to look within. We are each capable of sitting in an undisturbed place and allowing our inner world to speak to us.  Absolutely all human being are gifted with the innate talent to listen with a faculty deeper than their own physical ears.

We have access, at all times, to an inner sanctuary; our own 'power spot', a sacred place within--undisturbed by any circumstance or historic conditioning.  If we so desire, we can permit our indwelling spirit to unveil its’ wisdom and masterfully direct our lives.

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us. And when we bring what is within us out into the world, miracles happen.” ---Ralph Waldo Emerson

The source of our ability to connect deeply with ourselves and the subtler realms is found within.  We can choose to take the courageous journey inward, just as brave pilgrims continue travelling to sacred places all over the globe. Remember there is no measurable distance or time between us and our inner sanctuary.  If we are willing, our inner knowing will gently direct us into our own ‘Sacred Place'
