Schickworks Signs and Stitches on South Mackenzie Avenue can help you get the word out in a variety of ways. The ‘Stitches’ part of the name describes the quality embroidered logos and graphics that can help market a business. Corporate wear, such as shirts, jackets, vests, aprons and hats can be custom-stitched for a professional look that identifies a team---in the boardroom, the office, on the retail floor or in the shop.

The ‘Signs’ part also helps share important information, with signs for businesses and corporations, as well as boats registry signs, vehicles signs and wraps and safety signs.
“We take a good idea and turn it into excellent results,” said co-owner Dale Schick. “It’s all about finding a perfect balance between quality and efficiency—and we believe in both.”
In 1989 Dale Schick was doing striping on vehicles at his home, and when the owner of 3M Trimline saw his work, he hired Dale to do graphics and striping. “I worked for him for about three years, and eventually bought the company in 1998, along with Flemming Villadson and Dan Kerr,” he explained.

Dale bought out his partners and moved the business to its current location on South Mackenzie Avenue, changing the focus of the business from vehicle graphics to signs and embroidery and adopting the new name.
The staff members at Schickworks bring a broad range of skill, expertise and experience to the job, ensuring that customers get the best possible service and product. Cheri Carrier is in charge of the signs section---taking care of the day-to-day customer service and layouts, assisted by sign maker Cam Skoblaniuk. Promotional products manager Andrea Elzinga and embroidery expert Laurianne Robbins complete the rest of the team.
Schickworks recently added a ‘manlift’ for sign installation, maintenance and repair. “It lifts us 35’ into the air, and has really expanded our capabilities,” Dale explained. “This is another tool that helps us serve our customers better.”
Andrea Elzinga brings strong customer service skills to Schickworks, providing great ideas, inspiration and a commitment to getting the job done right. “I love this job---I like the customers, the people I work with and the people I work for,” she said. “I enjoy the challenge, the variety and the creativity.”

Dale explained that they work hard to provide the best product—to meet and exceed the customer’s expectations, and Andrea agreed. “A customer may not remember what they buy from you, but they’ll remember how you made them feel: that’s what brings them back,” she said.
Schickworks Signs and Stitches offers significant support to community events and groups such as the Williams Lake Stampede, the Timberwolves and the Maranatha Players. “We like to help out and support these groups—they all give a lot to the community,” Dale continued.
The team at Schickworks works to provide fast service and high-quality products for their customers, combining artistry and efficiency in a friendly, professional atmosphere. “It’s not just a job,” explained Andrea. “You have to believe it to sell it.”
