People of all ages can unleash their inner artist in a unique, creative environment in 150 Mile House. Ceramics are making a comeback, according to Linda Seery at Seery-us Ceramics, who welcomes customers to her spacious, beautiful studio to paint, create and be inspired.

You can choose from a huge selection of pieces ready to paint, or start from scratch and design your own from Linda’s selection of several thousand molds. With a kiln on site, she can fire your pieces and you can choose the glaze or acrylic paint that suits you.

She said that ceramics has been a 30-year hobby for her and added that she made ceramic Christmas gifts for friends and family for years. “I belonged to one club once where we did 100 lbs of clay in an old ringer washer machine,” she said. “20-30 years ago there were several businesses here that did ceramics—now people of all ages are getting interested again.”

032412_seeryus_ceramics_signSeery-us Ceramics welcomes people with a wide range of talent, skill and experience. “I have a lot of clients who have done ceramics themselves and they bring their friends and family to introduce them to it,” she explained. “You don’t have to have any experience at all—we welcome rank beginners and everybody has fun.”

A very unique service that Seery-us Ceramics offers is birthday parties for adults and for kids. “Mom and child can choose the items they want, and they can all come here and paint and can do the presents and cake and everything here,” she said. “They can go out and play in the yard if the weather’s nice.”

She said that she can accommodate 20 kids at a time. “If they don’t have the party here, I deliver the pieces once I seal the paint,” she continued.

You can make kitchen ware, household décor, candles, ornaments for all seasons, animals, birds, large beautiful vases, planters and mugs. There is a wide range of items for your yard and garden including planters, gnomes and garden décor.

“You don’t have to be a potter to create your own beautiful project. You can dry-brush the colours on to create the textured look of hair or feathers,” she said. “Everybody likes to colour; here you can colour inside the lines and outside the box as much as you want.”
