WILLIAMS LAKE, BC - The Williams Lake & District Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors held their annual Election of Officers Thursday, October 29 at Signal Point Restaurant.
The Chamber holds its annual election of Officers the last Thursday in October each year. Nominations are solicited and received during the year for a slate of officers and are taken from the floor as well.
Susan Redford, owner/operator of SJR Creative Office Solutions and partner of Rise & Shine Electric was re-elected President by acclamation. Also elected to the Executive are Walt Cobb of Ranton Holdings and Walts Men’s Shop as 1st Vice President and Charlene Harrison of RBC Royal Bank as 2nd Vice President. Roger Solly joins the Executive as the Immediate Past President.
Joining the Executive on the Board are Karen Roberts, Vanessa Riplinger, Jennifer Frey, Brian Goodrich, Tracey Gard, Jason Ryll, Mark Law, Ryan Oliver, Ken Wilson, Brian Stefan, Sharon Gertzen and Lorne Doerkson.
The special Guest Speaker for the AGM was Brian Battison, VP of Corporate Affairs for Taseko Mines. Brian provided an in-depth presentation on the progress for the proposed Prosperity Mine and the delays in moving forward with the project. Members in attendance voted by secret ballot indicating what level of support they had in support for the mine and the Chamber’s role in the process. Those results will be released in due course.
