Caribou Spurs Apparel and Tack is a uniquely Cariboo store that offers high-quality tack, gifts, decor and western wear for all ages. Their convenient location on Broadway Avenue makes it easy for customers with bigger rigs to park store-front while shopping.
Elaine Butler is the Manager of Caribou Spurs and there are five part-time employees. Elaine said that the owners, Lyda and Vic Sharman and the other employees make a great team that prides itself on high quality product, great prices and exceptional customer service.
One staff member said that the most important attribute to have in this store is that you like people and like to help them. “We help our customers every way we can: from doing special orders for them and helping them find exactly what they need, to doing layaway on larger items,” she said.”

Caribou Spurs goes from urban to rural, from practical to beautiful and all points between. There are American West purses guaranteed for life, buckles, riding safety helmets, Montana Silversmith gifts and jewellery, saddles, bridles, bits, stirrups, watches, grooming equipment, leather conditioner, fly spray and coat-shine for horses.
Shoppers can find Cowboy Kickers—slippers and footwear---for everyone from babies to seniors. The store carries Canada West, Brahma, Roper and Rocky footwear, as well as a good line of CSA-approved work boots.

There are things like ‘Tough Enough to Wear Pink’ western shirts for men and women, greeting cards, western wear for special events, cowboy hats and boots, an urban chic look in clothing for teens, oilskin coats, CDs, wallets, blankets and tote bags---a unique gift idea for any occasion for anyone in your life.
Experienced or beginning riders can find the gear they need to look their best, take care of their horses and get the job done. The store covers ‘glitz’, practicality and fun—carrying a range of products that look great, work well and reflect who you are on the back of a horse and in every aspect of your everyday life.

Another thing that Elaine and staff members said that they love about working at Caribou Spurs is the chance to learn from their many customers who are experienced riders or rodeo participants.
“We want customers to enjoy being here and want to come back. We recently had the Stampede Queen Contestants in the store and gave them exclusive run of the place,” Elaine said. “They had several hours to run around in here and try all kinds of things on---we had as much fun as they did.”
Caribou Spurs supports the community in many ways by donating to many rodeo events and participants, as well as to 4-H.

“We think it’s important that you don’t have to sacrifice a good price for a good product,” Elaine said, “and we strive to offer the kind of customer service that brings people back time after time.”
