You can find a little bit of everything at Me and My Bright Ideas. Owner Sharon Batty is a long-time ‘crafter’ herself, and provides many items for the shop. She also supports other local crafters by selling a wide range of items on consignment.

(Photo: Me and My Bright Ideas is a new shop at 29B South 3rd Avenue where unique, local arts and crafts are sold on consignment, and where creativity and imagination meet quality product and warm customer service.)

The one-of-a-kind items at Me and My Bright Ideas include jewelry, beaded ball ornaments, knitted, crocheted and cross-stitched items, baby blankets, Watkins products, hand-crafted wooden chairs, hand-sewn bags, afghans, wall hangings and more.

“I’ve being doing embroidery since I was seven years old,” Sharon said. “My grandmother told me that my stitching was so fine, I could do handkerchiefs.”

Sharon said that she owned a stationery store in Vancouver years ago, and always thoroughly enjoyed the social interaction with her customers. After moving to Williams Lake she worked part time at Kids Closet, and once again, enjoyed serving customers and developing relationships and friendships with them.

“At Me and my Bright Ideas it’s always unique. It changes all the time—I never know what I’m going to get in here,” she continued. “Right now I have things like elegant painted-egg jewelry holders, table linens, horoscope greeting cards, pillows, Barbie doll clothes, wooden ornament stands and an ‘Odds and Sods’ section.”

Her own designs are delight, beautiful, whimsical and exquisitely crafted: delicate table coverings that are washable and durable, delightful baby blankets and children’s ponchos, kitchen and car scrubbers and more.

Sharon has a poet’s heart and an artist’s eye. “This is a little store built from the ground up with locally-made, unique and creative crafts at good prices," she said. “Me and My Bright Ideas is a great place to find a unique gift or treasure, and crafters are always welcome.”
