Louise Scott and Peggy Scott-Mackenzie are in the business of making great impressions and good memories. Through ‘Our Baby Impressions’ they help capture a moment in a baby’s life and preserve it for a lifetime.
They take impressions of babies’ hands and feet, cover the impressions with a silver or bronze finish, and frame them.
Our Baby Impressions is introduced to families through Baby Welcome Wagon, both in Williams Lake and Quesnel. Customers get convenient, flexible service though Our Baby Impressions---Peggy and Louise will travel to people’s homes in Williams Lake, or meet in a central location for outlying communities.
They said that the youngest baby they’ve done an impression on was five days old, and that they sometimes they do a combination impression with babies and moms.
Raised impressions of baby hands and feet are different than a photo for preserving a life-long photo-memory, according to Louise. “This is really them—it’s touchable and real,” she said. “It has their unique and individual lines and fingerprints. Each one is completely different, just like your baby. There is no mistaking your baby for anyone else.”
Every Baby Impression is special, and customers can choose from different colours of wood for the frames and choose either a bronze or silver finish.
“The youngest baby we’ve done was five days old, and we’ve done impressions of mom and baby’s hands together,” Peggy explained. “We also do paw impressions of dogs. The smallest dog we’ve done was a Pug and the largest was an old German Shepherd whose owner wanted something to remember him by when he was gone.”
Louise said that because babies grow so quickly, having an exact impression of their little hands and feet is a tangible reminder of how tiny they were. “Having a baby is such a happy time for people, and this is a unique way to preserve the look and feel of their baby for a lifetime.”
