Who's Going Home?

By this time we have a pretty good sense of what's at stake for each of the remaining Idol contestants. We know how bad they want it. We have a sense of why they want it and we even know how hard they'll work and how much they'll sacrifice to get it.
In addition to performances from Fantasia, Daughtry and Bon Jovi we also faced a tough good-bye. After Fantasia's performance, a cute Ford commercial and clips from past Idol's trips' to their hometowns, we learned that Casey James will return to Texas with all the flash and fanfare that only American Idol is capable of.
Then Daughtry returned to the Idol stage to wow us with his talent and to prove that you can come in fourth and still have number one albums and nominations at the Grammys.
Somewhat predictability, Lee Dewyze grabs a top three spot and is able to go home to Chicago.
The gorgeous Jon Bon Jovi performed his top single 'Superman Tonight' and had me thinking about the time in the late 80s when I had tickets for his show at BC Place but didn't go---naively thinking that scalping them and going to the bar was more worthwhile.
Crystal Bowersox and Michael Lynch are the only ones left on stage at this point and I'm thinking, does American Idol really think that the voters expect Crystal to be eliminated? Now, if it was Casey and Mike left on stage with ten minutes left in the program, there might have been more suspense.
In any event, we ended up saying a tough goodbye to Michael Lynch. After being saved more than five weeks ago, Mike was happy and proud that he made it this far and for this long. He does have talent and this isn't the last we'll see of him.
Next week will be an emotional montage of the top three's return to their hometowns. Get out your tissues, Idol fans, and enjoy the show!
