Idol gives back
| Arts & Entertainment |
Tonight's show was a mix---from big celebrities, star musicians, political figures, real-life stories about the children dying in Africa from Malaria and the poverty stricken in the U.S to the Idol contestants awaiting their own fate.

We started with a message from President Obama and the First Lady to a performance by the Black-Eyed Peas. Some other performances included Alicia Keys, Annie Lennox, Elton John, Mary J.Blige, Carrie Underwood and even the Top 12 reunited for their own contribution to the night's entertainment.
There was emotionally charged video with poor children and impoverished families hosted by celebrities and past Idols, but they still managed to get to the present Idols from time to time for the results.
Crystal and Lee remained safe while Casey and Aaron moved to the bottom two. The others waited in the wings and watched the rest of the show unfold. Nearly an hour and a half later Siobhan and Mike stayed safe and Tim Urban joined Casey and Aaron in the bottom three. Finally, near the end of the two and half hour special, Tim Urban left the show with that big old grin still on his face and a great farewell attitude, leaving Casey James heaving a big sigh of relief.
Yes, the results were predictable (in my mind anyway), and yes the show was way, way too long, but the message was powerful. I know I'm a better more informed person now, having watched that show, than I was at the beginning of the day.
Enjoy the rest of your week. Idol fans and to those that have left comments, I really appreciate your feedback. It's people like you who give me your positive messages, that keep me wanting to entertain you with my little article, hoping that in some way I've enriched your lives too.
